At the end of November 2022, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) presented the draft update of the National Hydrogen Strategy (2020). The draft, which is currently still being coordinated between the ministries, fleshes out the original target images, supports them with numerous implementation proposals and prioritizes them in terms of time.
The strategic project consultancy cruh21 GmbH is expanding its management team. At the beginning of 2023, Dr. Ursula Prall will move from the law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) to the Hamburg-based consultancy and take over the management of the regulatory team at cruh21
Shipping has been a real "climate polluter" so far. In 2018, shipping caused more CO2 emissions than Germany as a whole. In figures, that's 1.076 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents and 2.76 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. Efforts to reduce climate-damaging emissions are underway.
As part of the BMBF-funded hydrogen lead project H2Mare, cruh21 is working in a network of research and industry on the fundamentals of being able to produce green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol on the high seas. The lead project serves as a model project for the technological breakthrough of the offshore hydrogen economy.
The ferry port of Sassnitz on the island of Rügen is to be developed into a hydrogen center. The core of the project is the development of a new hydrogen spherical storage tank and a transport test run. The joint project is part of the hydrogen lead project TransHyDE and cruh21 is also involved.
