The format condenses complex research findings into just seven minutes, combining scientific depth with concise and creative presentation. Around 50 participants joined the session to gain insights into the latest developments in hydrogen research.
Expert Contributions
- Christoph Tewis (Tewis Projektmanagement GmbH, TransHyDE-Helgoland) combined expertise with a poetic approach, presenting research results on LOHC-based transport chains.
- Lucas Ost (Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, TransHyDE-Mukran) introduced concepts for a tank and transport system for high-pressure hydrogen storage.
- Josefine Lyda (IKEM – Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility, TransHyDE-Campfire) provided impulses for further developing the legal framework for ammonia technologies.
The session was moderated by Barbara Mai (cruh21 – part of Drees & Sommer) and prepared and executed together with Verena Hertzsch (cruh21). Within only 30 minutes, a focused and high-level exchange was achieved.
As overall coordinator of TransHyDE, cruh21 supports the project with comprehensive communication and knowledge management. The 7-Minutes-Slam exemplified how knowledge transfer between research, industry, and policy can succeed – fast, concise, and accessible.
The 7-Minutes-Slam has successfully established itself as an innovative format for science communication. It stands for collaboration in practice, innovation capacity, and the enthusiasm to advance the energy transition through joint efforts in research and application.
