Energy Consulting at the Cutting Edge: Where We Stand and Where We're Headed

We look back on a first half of the year filled with project milestones, site analyses, regulatory advisory, and strategic communication—while also looking ahead to upcoming industry events where we will be present, initiate debates, and further expand our network.

Our focus remains clear: we support energy transition projects holistically—from permitting strategies and stakeholder management to the technical support of complex infrastructure developments. As part of Drees & Sommer, we combine systemic thinking with strong operational implementation—for clients from industry, government, and the public sector.

After the summer break, you’ll find us at the following events—we're already looking forward to connecting:

📍 5th Central German Hydrogen Congress – 4 September 2025 | Halle (Saale)
We’ll be attending this key meeting point of the Central German hydrogen community. The congress brings together stakeholders from politics, business, and academia to discuss transformation pathways and practical case studies from the H2 region. cruh21 follows the developments closely with a special focus on regulatory frameworks, project ownership models, and opportunities for regional value creation.

📍 Renewable Energy Summit – 10 September 2025 | Berlin
We’re part of this international summit bringing together thought leaders in the energy sector to discuss innovations in wind, solar, and green molecule production. cruh21 contributes impulses on system integration and the role of power-to-X in Energy Transition 2.0—networked, strategic, and future-oriented.

📍 HUSUM WIND – 17–20 September 2025 | Husum
On 17 September, Barbara Mai will join a talk session on “Women in Wind – Visibility, Quotas, Opportunities” together with Bärbel Heidebroek, President of the German Wind Energy Association. The discussion focuses on structural barriers and new paths to diversity in a changing industry.

On 18 September, Jimmie Langham and Alexander Stubinitzki are expected to speak about the current state of Germany’s hydrogen ramp-up—with concrete lessons learned from the BMBF flagship project TransHyDE and insights into TransHyDE 2.0, which is being developed as a systemic follow-up initiative.

cruh21 will be on site to bridge hydrogen strategy, regulatory practice, and industrial implementation.

📍 Beyondgas 2025 – 23–25 September 2025 | Oldenburg
Beyondgas has become a must-attend for anyone working at the interface of the gas industry and hydrogen transformation. On 25 September, cruh21’s Jimmie Langham will moderate the breakout session “European Hydrogen Projects”, featuring representatives from GASCADE, Ramboll, and Friesen Elektra who will share success factors and lessons learned.
Focus topics: IPCEI projects, cross-border infrastructure, and realistic project implementation.

📍 AquaSummit 2025 – 1 October 2025 | Berlin
The AquaSummit is the flagship event of the AquaVentus initiative, bringing together the offshore hydrogen community. cruh21 will be there, contributing its experience from over 20 hydrogen projects—including offshore strategy development, electrolyzer planning, and regulatory advisory. Together with partners from politics, business, and research, we will coordinate the next steps for implementing an offshore hydrogen ecosystem.
