cruh21 at HUSUM WIND 2023 and at w.one

HUSUM WIND is one of the most important trade fairs for renewable energies in the German-speaking world. That's why our Senior Consultant Barbara Mai was in Husum on 12 and 14 September and made an event sprint. Many exciting old and new faces from the renewable energy sector were there.

Making Energy Transition Possible in Husum

After an opening speech by Vice-Chancellor and Minister for the Environment and Economic Affairs Robert Habeck, a wide variety of presentations were on the agenda. From the current development of RE in France, to the Nordfriesland mbH business development agency and the EE.SH cluster, to current legislation, everything was on the programme. Matchmaking also took place at HUSUM WIND. This is the partnering event for visitors and exhibitors at HUSUM WIND and offers the opportunity to meet potential partners for new business, research and development projects and to expand one's network in the renewable energy sector.

With over 600 exhibitors and 15,000 trade visitors, networking was of course also on the to-do list. Barbara spoke not only with our partners from H2Mare and TransHyDE, but also with other important stakeholders and players in the energy industry. Interesting new contacts were made, for example with Norbert Giese, the managing director of GefuE Verwaltungs- und Betriebsführungs-GmbH and board member of the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation board member WAB e.V. Also present were Heiko Wuttke, board member of 8.2 Consulting AG, and Matthias Brandt, board member of Deutsche Windtechnik AG. The common goal, the transformation of the energy industry, and the associated motivation were clearly noticeable. We thank them for the great exchange and look forward to next year!

Meeting of the German Renewable Energy Federation on the Topic of Hydrogen

The next morning, Barbara's work continued straight away. In the meeting with the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) and their analysis of the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy, there was a lot of input. What became clear once again: The ramp-up of the green hydrogen economy is important for the future of our energy supply and climate protection. Invited experts talked about the development of a domestic green hydrogen economy. The focus was on one of our core topics at cruh21: renewable energies that are to be used for electrolysis, and which framework conditions urgently need to be created in the next few years in order not to be dependent on imports and blue hydrogen in the future.

Mentoring Evening at w.one - women of new energies

The end of Barbara's week was a dinner with the great women from w.one, who were also present at HUSUM WIND. cruh21 has been a member of the association for a few months, which is committed to promoting women in renewable energies. Part of it is also a mentoring programme, in which Barbara is a mentor. Thursday was the kick-off event for the 2023/2024 mentoring season.

Over dinner, equal opportunities, the role of women and, of course, the renewables were discussed. Together, the season was further developed and planned, the workshops discussed and exchanges between the women promoted. For us at cruh21, equality is not just something we talk about, but something we live. That's why we are all the more happy to be part of w.one and look forward to the next time.
